Toyota & SunHydro Fuel Cell Vehicle Trials In U.S. This Fall

allcarselectric.com -- Many think the infrastructure for hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicles just isn’t there, and they’re mostly right. There have been a few advances in hydrogen production recently, but the distribution system is the weak point. However, there are companies, such as SunHydro, which are helping to change all that and are even partnering with major automakers to help accelerate the development and eventual commercialization of hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicles.

SunHydro is the world's first chain of privately funded fueling stations that provides hydrogen to fuel cell vehicles and produces its fuel using just solar-power and water, meaning it is a true zero emissions source.

The company ..partnered with Toyota and will be commencing trials of ten Toyota Advanced Fuel Cell Hybrid Vehicle

Because we don't have the oil forever. Yes, there is a finite amount, and with the ever increasing appetite for fossil fuels, we'll run through it much faster than it can be produced.

Build the cars, sell the cars, service the cars and put the refuelling stations in your dealerships. A company that does this will cover all bases and will find it hard to fail. If our car companies here would use this model they could build vehicles that run on most any kind of fuel. Their dealers could also serve as fuelling stations since most of them have dealer ships in most cities and towns. The only problem would be crossing the mountains or deserts where the sigh says no fuel for the next 200 miles.

In order for the refueling stations to work economically there needs to be a lot of hydrogen fueled vehicles in the area but there are not quite a few hydrogen refueling stations in an area it does not make sense to buy a hydrogen fueled vehicle.
